…continuation….
Shivering in the cold damp night, Adi clutched her torn overcoat about her. As soon as the taxi cab pulled out of sight, she stepped from the shadows and hastily walked the block to Ze’ev’s place. A mixture of emotion coursed through her, confusing her. She was curious about the kindness that was shown to her by the man named Matthew, but at the same time it irritated her. For years, she had carefully buried deep within her the longing to be loved and cherished. Matthew’s gentleness caused those longings to once again resurface and bring with them the depressing emptiness of her life. Before she could dwell on it further, she angrily held the tears back, “I deserve a little kindness for all I go through; besides, he was probably hoping to get something anyways.” Adi muttered.
Suddenly, a tall black figure reached out of the shadows and grabbed her arm, yanking her into an alley. With a startled gasp, Adi began punching and kicking trying to break free from the man’s hold.
A deep chuckle of amusement escaped from the man, “Still spunky, I see!”
Angrily, Adi attempted one more swing at the man’s head, but the man was quicker than she. Grabbing tightly to Adi’s wrist, he pulled her against him. “I wouldn’t do that if I were you, Adi.” Ze’ev growled.
Despite her fear, Adi whispered through clenched teeth, “You’re hurting me, Ze’ev. Let me go!”
With a laugh, Ze’ev pushed her away and looked her over with disgust. “I can’t take you to the banquet in a dirty, torn overcoat!”
Quickly Adi discarded the pitiful coat to reveal her beautiful pink gown with its cascading flowers. Ze’ev pulled her closer to the glow of a street light and let out a low approving whistle causing Adi to blush. “You clean up well, Adi. Here’s the jewelry.” Ze’ev handed a black velvet bag to her and, with a second thought, snatched his hand back warning her, “You had better give this back to me by the end of the night, or I’ll come after you.”
“Don’t worry, I’ll give your precious jewels back to you,” Adi stated sarcastically while snatching the velvety bag from his hand. “Now help me put the necklace on.”

The Inner Workings of the Story:
Who is Ze’ev? In Hebrew, his name means wolf. From the outside, Ze’ev appears to be handsome, elegant, wealthy, a “dream boat” kind of guy, but the reality is that he’s a deceiver. Up to this point, he’s been able to keep up his social standing inspite of the rumors about his dealings in the black market. He cons everyone. The question is, even though he’s been gruff with Adi, will he be able to deceive her and win her over?
The Bible warns us about “wolves appearing as sheep.” There are many false teachers that would like to deceive us into thinking that there are many ways to Jesus. Their message may sound compelling, but the truth of it is there is only one way to heaven and that is through Jesus Christ. If you are searching for truth, be careful. Don’t be tantalized by the jewels that people throw to you. Often, they are just saying what you want to hear. Ask God to guide you to the real truth about Him, His Son Jesus, and eternity.
“Beware of false prophets who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravaging wolves.”
-Matthew 7:15
Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” – John 14:6
