“Abba, I’ve been angry and hurt. I felt like you betrayed me that’s why I grew silent.” I stared up into the face of my Father not sure of the reaction that I would receive.
It was compassion and understanding that shone in his eyes rather than condemnation. “I know, daughter, it would appear that way, but I did not betray you. I know the plans that I have for you, but I need to prepare you first before allowing you to forge ahead.” Reaching out and tousling my hair, he smiled, “What kind of Father would I be if I let you rush ahead into something that you’re not ready for? I want to set you up for success not failure, so don’t rush the process of growth.”
Surprised, I tried to contain my excitement as I inquired, “You mean, you’re not done with me? You really do have a plan for me? I thought you discarded me.”
Confused, Abba responded, “Why would I discard you? You’re my daughter!”
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” – Jeremiah 29:11
