“Abba, do you remember when I was little and I was always picked last to be apart of someone’s team?”
My Father gave a little chuckle, “I remember.”
I continued on with my thought, “I would do all that I could to be noticed – wave my hands, hold my breath, stand still- anything that would set me apart, but it never worked. I was never noticed. Looking back, I continued that process with you. I felt like I had to earn your attention, be super good and do amazing things. I wanted so much to be yours and for you to use me in your work, but I felt like I was never good enough. I could never get your attention and finally I gave up, dejected, and I fell silent.”
Giving a small sigh my Father responded, “I saw your heart, your love towards me when you were a little girl. I saw your hand waving, I heard your pleas. Daughter, I did not pass you by. I did not ignore you. I’ve been creating a good work in you. You just haven’t noticed.”
“I understand that now. I just read your note, “…Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to them.” (Daniel 10:12)
Giving my shoulders a tight squeeze, he gently said, “Daughter, I have always been here for you and I always will be.”
